This holiday season, we’re proud to support a local family of four through Holiday Helpers Toronto! 🎄✨

At Volleyball United, community means everything to us—on and off the court. We’re honoured to give back to a Toronto family this year and help make their holidays a little brighter.

Holiday Helpers does incredible work connecting families in need with support during the season, and we’re grateful to be part of this year’s effort.

Wishing everyone in our VU family a season filled with warmth, joy, and the spirit of giving. 💙🏐

Daily Bread Food Drive

In October, we ran a month long food drive to collect non-perishable items for Daily Bread Food Bank, who collects and redistributes food to over 200 food programs in Toronto.

Our supporters donated canned goods including soups, fish, tomatoes, fruits, vegetables, pasta sauce, along with pasta, oatmeal, and nut butters (peanut and almond). Every item will help feed those who need it most across the GTA.

Thanks to everyone for their support and donations!

The Thanksgiving Games

On October 10th and 11th we co-hosted the Thanksgiving games with Canuckstuff. This was a meaningful good deed that strengthened the bonds within our volleyball community. By bringing players, families, and supporters together in one space, we created an opportunity to celebrate what connects us—our shared passion for volleyball.
The event reinforced the importance of building a unified volleyball community where everyone feels welcomed and valued. We're grateful to Canuckstuff for generously providing the venue and making this gathering possible. Their partnership allowed us to create an event where our volleyball community could connect, compete, and support one another.
This good deed exemplifies our belief that a strong, united volleyball community is the foundation for everything we do.

At the end of August Volleyball United was proud to volunteer with Yonge Street Mission’s Evergreen Kitchen, where our team helped prep and serve a warm meal for 100–150 vulnerable youth in downtown Toronto. Beyond the meal, we also contributed a $1,500 donation in support of YSM’s vital programs — providing mental health care, dentistry, day care, clothing, and other essentials for young people ages 18–24.

For us, it was more than a day of service — it was a chance to stand alongside an organization making a lasting difference and to extend the impact of our volleyball community beyond the court.

Beach Clean Up

On August 17th we took part in an End-of-Season Sunset Clean-Up at Toronto’s Eastern Beaches. After a summer of serving, spiking, and celebrating our sport at Volleyball Beach Nationals, Provincials, and beyond, it was our turn to give back to the shoreline we all enjoy.

This initiative is part of our ongoing commitment to the environment and our 12 Good Deeds of 2025 campaign. It is part of A Greener Future’s Love Your Lakes program, which has already removed over 1.6 million pieces of litter from the Great Lakes region.

Ice Cream & Music at AgeCare Trilogy

On August 6th, the Volleyball United team brought in an ice cream truck accompanied by live music for the residents at AgeCare Trilogy - an established long-term care residence with a warm atmosphere in the heart of Eastern Toronto.

It was a joyful afternoon enjoying sweet treats together while singing and dancing to the entertainment!

Volleyball United & PRIDE

Tree Planting in Scarborough

As part of Volleyball United’s 12 Good Deeds of 2025, our team and volunteers gathered in Scarborough on May 14th to take part in a meaningful environmental initiative. Together, we joined the City of Toronto in planting 275 native trees and shrubs at a local park to help grow and restore a thriving urban forest.

This effort supports our commitment to environmental stewardship and reflects our belief that the volleyball community has the power to make a difference far beyond the court. Thank you to everyone who joined us — your time and energy made a lasting impact on the local ecosystem and community.

Volleyball United is proud to support YWCA Toronto as part of our 12 Good Deeds of 2025 initiative and in honour of International Women’s Day (March 8) and Women’s History Month!

YWCA Toronto has been a leader since 1873, providing shelter, housing, employment training, leadership programs, and advocacy for women, girls, and gender-diverse people. Our in-kind donation is one way we’re taking action to support their mission of promoting equality, economic security, and lives free from violence. This March, we celebrate the strength and resilience of women everywhere and are honoured to contribute to this vital cause.

Spread the Love

Our first good deed of 2025 was partnering with TMU Volleyball for their Spread the Love event on February 14th. The occasion brought together club teams from across the community to watch TMU compete against York, creating a unique opportunity to unite our volleyball community around mental health awareness. Volleyball United set up a booth at the event to introduce our brand and mission to attendees, connecting with players and families who share our passion for the sport. To support the causes at the heart of the event, we donated $1,000 to the Canadian Mental Health Association and $1,000 to TMU Volleyball in recognition of their efforts to bring the volleyball community together. This partnership demonstrated the power of using sport as a platform for connection and positive impact, and we're grateful to TMU Volleyball for hosting such a meaningful event.

At Volleyball United, we believe in the power of community — on and off the court. We Take Care of Our Own is a program designed to provide support to members of the volleyball community in times of need. We're here to step up and rally around our own. If you or someone you know could use a helping hand, we encourage you to apply. Together, we ensure that no one in our volleyball family is left behind.
